Biggest Game Releases -August 2023
After a relatively quiet start to the year, we’re now rapidly approaching a buffet of new game releases scheduled for the second half of 2023.
August marks the beginning of the deluge, with a diverse range of titles due to arrive soon, including epic fantasy RPGs, first-person magic shooters, mech battlers, and more.
Moving Out 2 and Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical will be available in August, as with a slew of other Australian-made titles.
They are the driving force behind a number of significant indie hits, including the throwback pixel RPG adventure Sea of Stars and the retro-inspired WrestleQuest.

If you’ve ever played the WWE 2K games and wished for more from the narrative modes, this is the game for you.
WrestleQuest is unusual in that it has an assortment of officially-licensed wrestler cameos, with fans able to interact with digital versions of ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage, Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts, Andre the Giant, La Parka, and more.
There should be lots of interesting easter eggs to keep you interested in this story.
Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical

Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical, developed by Melbourne-based Summerfall, will be released on PC and consoles in August 2023.
It’s one of two major Australian game releases scheduled for this month, the other being Moving Out 2.
You play as Grace, a young lady who is drawn into the world of ancient gods after inheriting the enigmatic powers of a Muse.
You may expect to find a lively, narrative-driven adventure overflowing with catchy melodies and gorgeously-designed characters as you journey through Stray Gods.
The game has an all-star cast of voice actors as well as an all-star cast of Australian game production ability.

Atlas Fallen

Atlas Fallen is an intriguing game with a distinct style and a Dune-like environment.
Moving Out 2

Moving Out, the popular Australian moving simulator, will receive a complete sequel in August 2023, with this game building on the original’s principles and functionalities. For starters, you’ll be able to play Moving Out 2 online, either against strangers or with friends, for chaotic maneuvers over many dimensions.
Moving Out 2’s goal appears to be to become larger and bolder, with each level introducing a new peculiarity.
You’ll have to deal with roaming boats, more open areas, and even distractions like farm animals and clouds as you try to move boxes and furniture in the game.
Everything appears to be quite crazy, and should make for a very loud night.
The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood

The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood is a story-driven game about a witch called Fortuna rediscovering companionship after a 200-year exile.
Fortuna will reunite with old friends, meet new ones, and learn how to live in a brighter, weirder future filled with magic and cosmic mysteries as she searches for a new home.
As you progress through Fortuna’s journey, you’ll be able to impact her development through important choices, as well as participate in a range of artistically themed mini-games, one of which lets you to create your own tarot deck in dress-up mode.
The entire game appears to be quite stunning, and its pixel aesthetic should enhance a wild, dramatic plot.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

Classic horror movie The Texas Chain Saw Massacre has been turned into a horror survival video game in the manner of Dead by Daylight, with one player representing a member of the Slaughter family and the rest of the players playing victims attempting to flee and hide.
Sumo Digital has announced that the game will be released in August 2023.
While the multiplayer horror survival genre is already crowded, the continuous popularity of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre franchise may help capture moviegoers’ attention.
Given the success of Dead by Daylight, it’s evident that the survival genre has ardent followers – and while this game will need to do a lot to stand out from the crowd, there’s definitely potential in it.
Bomb Rush Cyberfunk

Immortals of Aveum

While magic is a popular component in video games, it is uncommon to see it integrated in a Call of Duty-style manner.
Immortals of Aveum is trying something new here, and it has a lot of potential, as we discussed in our previous game preview.
In the realm of gaming, novelty is a huge plus, and it looks like this journey is brimming with it.

Another notable title arriving in August 2023 is Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, the long-awaited successor to FromSoftware’s popular mech action franchise.
In this game, you control your own gigantic mech warrior and must complete different tasks in a weird, post-apocalyptic world dominated by machines.

In this game, you play as Fang, a juvenile dinosaur monster attempting to find their place in the world while everything around them crumbles.
The story’s idea is really fascinating, and it appears like it will elicit at least one tear.
With the world dying, Fang must make defining decisions that will shape their adventure till the true end of the world.
Based on early indications, Goodbye Volcano High appears to be an adventure game ideal for fans of existentialist dramas, such as Night in the Woods and Oxenfree.

Along the way, you’ll see breathtaking scenery, solve environmental challenges, hone your skills, and finally rescue the planet.
Notably, this game will be available on both Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus from the start, making it accessible to everybody interested.
