Design
Display
The Realme GT Master Edition carries a 6.43-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. Although smaller than its Explorer sibling, it does mean that the phone has a higher pixel density as well. It has a peak brightness of 1000 nits, which, taken altogether, gives this Master Edition a bright and vibrant display with sharp and accurate colors.
Performance
The hardware inside is where Realme cuts corners the most, though it might not always be evident in normal day-to-day use. The new Snapdragon 778G 5G, the first in the series to use a 6nm process, isn’t an underdog, and the 8GB of RAM is sufficient for most tasks. The latter can even be expanded by allocating some of the internal storage, but users should be aware that there is no storage expansion for the phone.
Cameras
To some extent, the Realme GT Master Edition takes after the Realme GT 5G’s camera array, at least in terms of sensors. There are differences, of course, but they are subtle and may not even be discernible to most users. The 64MP main sensor leads the pack with a smaller 1/2-inch size, joined by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a smaller f/2.2 aperture lens.
realme GT Master Explorer Edition may not launch in India
Chinese handset maker realme launched the realme GT Master Edition series in its home country in late July. The lineup includes two models, namely realme GT Master Edition and realme GT Master Explorer Edition. The former device made its way to India a few days back. However, the latter may not release in the region.
The realme GT Master Explorer Edition was recently spotted on Google Play Console and Google Supported Devices list. Hence, the device could launch in global markets.
But it looks like the smartphone may not release in India. This piece of information comes directly from a deleted tweet (via MySmartPrice) of Francis Wong, CMO of Realme India. Anyway, the phone might release in other international markets.
Talking about features, the realme GT Master Explorer Edition is better than the vanilla Master Edition in many aspects. It has a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset and a larger 6.55-inch curved AMOLED display. This Samsung panel supports 120Hz refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate, 6,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 92.1% screen-to-body ratio, 1,100 nits peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
The handset also has an updated triple-camera setup consisting of a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor with OIS, a 16MP ultra-wide unit, and 2MP macro snapper. For selfies and video calls, the phone uses a 32MP shooter. Last but not least, it is backed by a slightly larger 4,500mAh battery.
It would have been nice if this smartphone made its way to India. Anyway, customers can consider buying the OnePlus 9 RT, which is said to come with a similar set of features.
