Pixel Smartphones Roadmap 2023–2025 Surfaces
According to the source, even though the authors have checked this information carefully, This Google Pixel smartphones roadmap is really not destined to be.
Some parts of the proposal are set in stone, but others are still up in the air, according to the source.
The tech giant’s Pixel series has seen its ups and downs but lately, the 6 and 7 series have boosted sales and created the brand’s name, resulting in users looking forward to what’s next.
Upcoming Google Pixel series in 2023 Roadmap
Pixel’s line-up will change next year. Two Pixel phones, codenamed “Lynx” and “Felix,” will launch in April or May. “Lynx” is the Pixel 7a, and “Felix” is the Pixel Fold.
The report also cites that an insider said Google will preserve the Pixel 7a’s $449 price, matching the Pixel 6a.
Leaks suggested the 7a would have wireless charging and a 90 Hz refresh rate.
Furthermore, the pixel foldable phone would be priced at the previously rumoured $1,799, pitting it directly against Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series. “Our source couldn’t corroborate these details,” said the report.
Later In 2023, Google will unveil the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. According to the report, the Pixel 8 series will not see many changes.
The Pixel 8 (codenamed “Shiba”) will have a smaller screen and body.
“Husky” (the Pixel 8 Pro) will have the same display and measurements as the Pixel 7 Pro.
Zuma is the codename for the Pixel 8 silicon. This will be called Tensor G3 by Google.
Google Pixel series in 2024 Roadmap
The Pixel 8a is codenamed “Akita.” Depending on Pixel 7a sales, the plan may change.
Google may switch from yearly to biennial A-series phone launches, a source says (every two years).
This would bring the A series in line with Apple’s iPhone SE, which comes every few years and stays on store shelves. Depending on the popularity of the Pixel 7a, Google could switch to biennial A-series launches, according to the report.
Google Pixel 9 series
Google will release the Pixel 9 in 2024. According to the information, this series will contain three devices. The first will be the vanilla Google Pixel 9, which will be similar to the Pixel 8, which, remember, is slightly smaller than the Pixel 7.
The Pixel 9 Pro, codenamed “Komodo,” would have a 6.7-inch screen. The second Pro-level model is “caiman.” The 6.3-inch phone would include all the pro-level capabilities of the 6.7-inch variant.
A smaller pro-level Pixel 9 could be released. The sources compared this to iPhone releases. Pixel 9 is like an iPhone 14; “Caiman” is like an iPhone 14 Pro. The 6.7-inch “Komodo” is like an iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Google wants to emulate Apple’s sizing plan, so it needs a pro-level phone smaller than the Pixel 7 Pro.
Pricing, naming, and availability are unknown, but three phones are planned.
The Tensor G4, dubbed “Redondo,” should debut on all three phones.
The report also said that a device that can be folded is planned for 2024, but not much is known about it yet.
The Pixel series in 2025 Roadmap
Google’s 2025 Pixel roadmap will be largely affected by 2023 and 2024 initiatives, a source claims.
Google is considering a foldable flip phone to compete with the Galaxy Z Flip.
If it takes this approach, the fall 2025 debut of the main Pixel series would contain the foldable, a non-folding vanilla model (we assume it’ll be the Pixel 10), and two pro-level variants, one smaller and one larger.
Google is planning a clamshell foldable for 2025 and has another method.
Google would move forward with four non-folding phones if it abandons the flip-style handset.
This would include a vanilla model in both small and large sizes, and a pro model.
Again, this is Apple’s current plan for iPhones. Any Pixel Fold successors in 2025 will depend on 2023’s market reception.
For 2023, the company will launch the Pixel 7a, Pixel Fold, and Pixel 8 series. For 2024, the plan is to introduce the Pixel 8a and three models in the Pixel 9 series. For 2025, the Pixel clamshell foldable and Pixel 10 series will be made available.
The launch of each new model will probably depend on the success of the previous ones.
Through its upcoming models, Google plans to give strong competition to Apple and Samsung as they have similar products.
